So many good options here. I've been coming for years and it's always the same good quality. My favorite is the cinnamon French toast.

Great Breakfast place! Hash steak w/ eggs was to die for .and the french toast was darn good too..enjoy!

Absolutely lovely place to have happened upon in the East Village. Went for lunch right at noon on a Tuesday and it was not too busy. Had trouble deciding what to order because so many items looked fantastic. Ordered the House Quesadilla and it absolutely hit the spot. Service was very friendly from multiple staff members. Atmosphere was just an all around lovely and pleasant place.

Friendly service, gluten free menu, tasty American and Mexican food! Dog friendly patio allowed our pooch to join us. We'll be back!

One of the best breakfasts we enjoyed while in San Diego! Seemingly not as popular or possibly the time we arrived... nonetheless we had a 1 minute wait and the service was prompt and on point!We ordered pancakes, French toast and Roast Beef Hash with Eggs! I can speak about the Roast Beef Hash as it was like little filet mignon seared to perfection and golden brown potatoes. The entire breakfast experience was delightful! If you only can choose three breakfast spots, this place definitely delivers the goods! Yummy and creative ideas, I’ll look for more at the Mission next visit!

Great pancakes! Always have to visit this place when I come to San Diego. Friendly staff, quick seating and turn around with your food.

Hands down our favourite breakfast spot in San Diego! Tried something different every time we went, coffee good, milkshakes good ... everything good. Maybe the only thing would be to work on the presentation of the food and the aircon, depending on where you sit you might be a bit cold. Other than that good taste, size and choice!

Delicious and fresh. Went there for breakfast and had the vegetarian tamales which were tasty and balanced. Reasonable prices and a broad range of options. Friendly and fast service. I would definitely go back.

My wife and I came here while on vacation in San Diego, and this place definitely exceeded expectations. The food was very flavorful and the portions are generous. I am definitely glad that we chose to eat here, and we will definitely be back the next time we're in town. Kudos to the chef on the plating and presentation as well!

French toast was like cinnamon bun. It was nice for first few bites but after that it was too sweet.Pancake was good.

Fantastic breakfast. Very large servings. Amazingly, the black beans were fantastic. Usually they're just on the plate as filler but i could have eaten a whole order of just those.

We ordered blackberry and banana pancakes and also the french toast with a side of potatoes and scrambled eggs/bacon. The food came out quickly and was very good. We actually had enough to save for our breakfast the next day! The pancakes are as large as a plate and the french toast was large as well. The service was very good and it was a nice easy walk from where we stayed downtown. Definately recommend.

I love this restaurant, but it's in a horrible part of town and it is very difficult to find parking. I finally stopped going, because of the stench from the homeless population. It's time to get out of that neighborhood.

While on vacation in San Diego I looked up breakfast restaurants. The Mission popped up with pretty good reviews so we decided to try it. We like to stay away from chain restaurants when we travel. This restaurant has some delicious food! The staff is super friendly as well. We decided to buy sandwiches-to-go and eat at the zoo for that afternoon. They packed them in foil for easy carrying in the backpack. They bake their own breads too! Thanks to the folks who recommended The Mission! We certainly recommend as well!!

This place was recommended by a friend, and I am thankful he told me about this place. I ordered the hanger steak and eggs, and she ordered the "Mission french toast". Very delicious, and a must if you are in San Diego.

Omg my first time having the Mission, my mom surprised me with my favorite food French Toast and boy was it amazing! Its such a warm and inviting restaurant and ALL of the food is simply fantastic and flavourful. I would recommended this place not only to the locals but tourists as well. Enjoy!

French toast is amazing!Awesome breakfast joint in Downtown San Diego, get there early though as it gets busy quickly. Quick service and great menu covering all the bases.

A great little place for breakfast. A few blocks from the gaslamp district, well worth the story walk to get here. Very relaxed atmosphere. Customer chatter, music from the radio, and sounds from the kitchen combine to form a pleasant background ambiance. Staff are friendly and very attentive. I ordered a cappuccino and the house French toast with a side of bacon with maple syrup. Large espresso coffee served in a massive, soup bowl sized mug. My drink and food were served up promptly. Recommend checking this place out for a casual breakie if you're in the area.

What a neat place. Went for breakfast ordered the cinnamon bread French toast with bacon. Man what a feast! It was excellent. No complaints. The french toast was thick and nicely browned. They even had real maple syrup where some restaurants cheap out on the syrup. Mission followed thru! The service was attentive and competent. It's smallish but that's what I like. This place is a winner and deserves multiple repeat visits based on my 1st experience.

The cinnamon swirl French toast with puree is wonderful and avoids feeling too heavy. Recommend the Vincent Vega for those feeling Adventurous, one of my favorite drinks now

Delicious food and a cozy place the service was amazing love the options they have on their menu and the food is plated like a work of art! The only down side is the parking but believe me when I say you wouldn't mind walking a block just to eat here 😊 can't wait to return!

Classic flavors. This plate honestly tastes pretty identical to the similarly named plate at Coffee Cup in La Jolla, CA. Perhaps the same owners, I'm not sure, but regardless, it's very yummy. No complaints.

Tasty food and flavorful drinks. My favorite dish is only served on weekdays after 11:30am... worth the wait. Tofu, brown rice and veggies with a special sauce. The rosemary bread is soft and full of flavor. The con is parking, keep searching and you'll find one.

We came here for breakfast and it was delicious. We ordered breakfast burritos and vegetarian breakfast and man, oh man, the food was off the chart yummy!!!!!😋😋😋😋

Such a cozy place to celebrate simple occasions with loved ones. A very romantic atmosphere for a casual dining restaurant in the heart of the busy business district. The location is not far from our place. Parking is available anytime. The overall experience is rated based on my personal standards. Five-star for the design, ambiance, cleanliness, value for money, service delivery, and especially for the quality of food, very satisfying! I'm honest about it!

This place is absolutely delicious and just a short walk from the waterfront. They had a great assortment of gluten free items as well. Management was very accommodating as well. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Downtown SD!

This place was so yummy! They originally said it would be a 10 minute wait for our party of 6, but it really was only about 3 minutes which was nice. The serving sizes were huge so you definitely get what you pay for. I got the pesto chicken sandwich and it was so good and the service was great. I would 10/10 recommend and will be coming back!

Good coffee & hot chocolate, a varied menu & some nice healthy options. Very flavorful. I had soy chorizo w/eggs & nicely fried potatoes. Their French Toast & pancakes options looked delicious. All is well plated w/good portions. Come early but worth the wait if you sleep in.

This is such a cute place for a meal! We came here on a whim and ended up really enjoying the experience and the food. The rosemary potatoes are amazing! I highly recommend this side dish. It was perfectly crispy and had such an incredible flavor with the fresh rosemary. There was plenty of street parking available, and restrooms are located outside but they will give you a key to unlock it.

This place is awesome. The food is tasty and the service is great. Went on a Saturday at 10am and was immediately seated. The servings are decent. We will definitely be back!

I always find some time to stop for breakfast here whenever I'm on my own time in San Diego. The food is delicious, the service cordial, and the drinks always leave me fully caffeinated. They also feature local artwork as a part of their decor which always makes the experience just a little bit different each time.

The Mission is our go to place downtown for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Large servings, great atmosphere. Be warned however there is always a wait outside the door! Worth it! Once you are in, they never make you feel rushed. Very laid-back atmosphere

The bread here is amazing. Great toast but soft at the same time with a hint of rosemary... so good. Portions are generous and filling. Service was awesome. We came on a Wednesday late- morning so there was no wait. Will definitely visit when I'm in town again!

We went to The Mission today for lunch and were very pleased with how hospitable the staff was. The food was great and fairly priced. It was clean inside and out. They had a very good selection of food to choose from. And the food tasted very authentic! Very Very Good! It was walking distance from our airbnb condo at the Pennicle on the corner of 15th and J st.The Mission was only two very short blocks away. We recommend trying The Mission out! You will be happy you did! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟(5 Stars)

One of the best place for breakfast in San Diego will definitely going back in the near future. This is the Portuguese sausage plate.

Huge plates. Good bloody mary, strong lime taste. Very friendly employees. Parking is difficult.

Nice selection of health conscious foods served in a friendly environment by nice folks. Outdoor seating is a plus on cool mornings and evenings. Walking distance from Petco Park and the Gaslamp district.

I'm not a brunch person, but I really liked The Mission! It felt relaxed, the food was delicious, and there was plenty of outdoor seating. Most importantly, it didn't feel super overcrowded (my least favorite part of brunch spots). The restaurant has a unique feel because it's as if you're at someone's house! I for sure will be back next time I'm in San Diego!

Awesome linguica nobody cooks it right but they nail it. Some of the stuff is a little heavy on the Rosemary for my taste but it's still good. Great staff. Very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
